Note: Grafana Advisor is currently in public preview
A centralized view to help Grafana administrators keep their instances running smoothly. It includes a suite of checks which flag issues requiring action or further investigation.
Requirements
- Grafana v12.0.0
- The
grafanaAdvisorfeature toggle must be enabled. - (Optional) If the Grafana LLM app is installed, the Advisor will use it to generate suggestions for issues.

- Filter by check severity.
- Take action on a check by clicking the provided links.
Installation
This plugin can be installed using one of the following methods:
- Grafana Plugins Catalog
- Grafana CLI:

Usage
Once installed, the app can be found at http://<your-grafana-url>/a/grafana-advisor-app.
If no report has been generated yet, click the "Generate report" button to create one.
Once a report has been generated, the app will display a list of checks that require immediate action or investigation. Click on the provided links or read the associated documentation for more information and fix the issues.
If the Grafana LLM app is installed, the Advisor can use it to generate suggestions for issues. To enable this, click the "Enable LLM" button.
Once the issues have been resolved, the report can be regenerated by clicking the "Refresh" button again.
Configuration
You can configure certain aspects of the plugin in the Grafana config file:
evaluation_interval: The interval at which the report is generated (default: once a week).max_history: The maximum number of reports to keep (default: 10).
To modify the default values, add the following to the Grafana config file:

Installing on a local Grafana:
For local instances, plugins are installed and updated via a simple CLI command. Plugins are not updated automatically, however you will be notified when updates are available right within your Grafana.
1. Install the Application
Use the grafana-cli tool to install Grafana Advisor from the commandline:
grafana-cli plugins install The plugin will be installed into your grafana plugins directory; the default is /var/lib/grafana/plugins. More information on the cli tool.

2. Enable it
Next, log into your Grafana instance. Navigate to the Plugins section, found in your Grafana main menu.
Click the Apps tabs in the Plugins section and select the newly installed app.
To enable the app, click the Config tab. Follow the instructions provided with the application and click Enable. The app and any new UI pages are now accessible from within the main menu, as designed by the app creator.
If dashboards have been included with the application, they will attempt to be automatically installed. To view the dashboards, re-import or delete individual dashboards, click the Dashboards tab within the app page.
